The Medical College of Wisconsin said late Friday afternoon it will hold two conferences Monday in two Wisconsin cities to announce its board of trustees’s decision about creating medical education campuses in other parts of the state.
The news conferences will be held in Green Bay, where Mayor Jim Schmitt has declared the city a front-runner, and in Mosinee, the release said.
The planned regional campuses would involve a $23 million total investment and include modest facilities initially, said Maureen Mack, a Medical College spokeswoman.
When the expansion was proposed, the school said it could potentially train as many as 100 doctors a year at multiple sites, and that the new campuses could open as soon as 2014.
